None required.
Collection instructions
Serum Separator Tube (SST).
Processing

Storage
Refrigerated.
Stability
Refrigerated: 7 days at 2–8°C; Frozen: 3 months at -20°C. At ACCU: Refrigerated: 7 days; Frozen: 2 weeks. Lipemia: Gross lipemia has been shown to cause a decrease in the apparent progesterone concentration. The use of an ultracentrifuge is recommended to clear lipemic samples.
Rejection criteria
• Specimen collected in the incorrect tube. • Specimen received with mismatch or no patient identifier. • Specimen received outside stability requirements.
